Dear HCC Community:

We want to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning students. We hope you will have a rewarding and successful academic year. The Haitian Cultural Club of Tallahassee is here to support your success as a member of the organization and Tallahassee community. To that end, we want to ensure that you know how to locate the wide variety of resources available to you and that you are aware of and have easy access to the executive board through the year.

To begin, we would like to thank all of you who gave us your support during the 2009 Election. You've elected a fine group of people that are looking forward to working with you this year. We'd also like to thank all who have helped with activities, hosted socials, and just helped out when it was needed. We will be looking forward to seeing you all throughout this 2009-2010 school term.

The Executive Board held its first official meeting on Friday, May 22nd to discuss our our dreams and aspirations for the Haitian Cultural Club where a number of ideas were exchanged. Our biggest concern is to secure the HCC financially, expand our organization throughout every aspect of student life, and to continue to encourage a positive and friendly atmostphere.

At our first board meeting we continued to discuss how to achieve our goals in the club and events, which we hope will lead to more member participation within the club. We plan on creating strong committees, where true leadership is expected and will show. With your help, we can make 2009-2010 the best school year ever!

The Haitian Cultural Club is starting the year in great shape. Prior to having our first general body meeting we had several people give positive feedback at our first food sale fundraiser. We were pleased at the outcome. And surprised about of our May 18th Flag Day Pool Party turnout.

We are still attempting to finalize our activity schedule for the year. However, we will need members to volunteer to host and/or help with the events. So, please begin to give some thought as to how you can assist our club. Everyone is a leader and every individual is HCC. If you have any information to pass along or would like to serve within the organization, please see one of the Executive Board members or submit your concerns on the contact page.

In addition to the resources and programs to support your academic work and your life here in Tallahassee. There are many additional resources made available to you through HCC. Please know that we are here to support your success as a member of the organization and student within your respected university. We look forward to meeting you and working with you during your time in Tallahassee.
